This tab sets the options for loading and playing movie and sound files.

 

Viewing/Playing options

 

Start on open. Select this option to cause ThumbsPlus to start playing the movie or sound file immediately after opening.

 

Auto repeat. When checked, ThumbsPlus will repeat the movie or sound file indefinately.

 

Disable audio. Select this option to mute the movie audio on playback.

 

Initial size. Use this dropdown list to select the initial size of the movie window. The available sizes are 50%, 100%, 200%, 400% and Full Screen.

 

Time display. Use this dropdown list to select the desired units of playback progress indication. The available units are Time and Seconds. Time will display in the format HH:MM:SS. Seconds will merely display the total number of seconds elapsed. A new unit of playback, Frames, is planned for a future release.

 

Render audio waveforms. Select this option to have ThumbsPlus render audio data using the selected style. Available styles are Wave, Radial, Diagram, Tunnel , and Frequency.

 

Channel colors

 

Randomize. Check this option to use random colors for the rendered audio channels.

 

Left. Select the desired color for rendered audio data on the left channel for stereo files. Note: if the audio data contains only one channel (mono) the left channel color will be used.

 

Right. Select the desired color for rendered audio data on the right channel for stereo files.

 

Use Direct Sound output device. Uncheck this option to use the default WAVE output device instead of the Direct Sound output device. On some systems, using the WAVE output device may inprove audio rendering and playback performance.

 

 

Thumbnail options (Movie only)

 

First frame. Select this option to cause ThumbsPlus to make the thumbnail from the first frame of the movie.

 

First non-blank frame. Select this option to cause ThumbsPlus to make the thumbnail from the first non-blank frame of the movie.

 

Last frame. Select this option to cause ThumbsPlus to make the thumbnail from the last frame of the movie.

 

Last non-blank frame. Select this option to cause ThumbsPlus to make the thumbnail from the last non-blank frame of the movie.

 

Percentage of movie. Select this option and enter a percentage from 1 to 100 to make ThumbsPlus advance to the desired percentage of the movie before making the thumbnail.

 

Make waveform thumbnails. Select this option to have ThumbsPlus create thumbnails by rendering audio data using the selected style. Available styles are Wave, Radial, Diagram, Tunnel , and Frequency.
