Memory Usage. (ThumbsPlus updates these values in realtime.)
Physical Total (KB). The total amount of physical memory (RAM) installed on the computer. The amount of RAM available is unrelated to hard disk size.
Physical In Use (KB). The amount of allocated physical memory (RAM) that is currently in use on the computer.
Physical %. The percentage of physical memory that is currently available (unallocated).
Page File Total (KB). The total amount of page file memory available. This memory is allocated on the computer's hard disk in a special file called a page file (or swap file) and is controlled by Windows.
Note: Windows uses this page file memory when it does not have enough physical RAM to hold all programs that are currently running. When a program is allowed execution time in the CPU, Windows makes sure that all of the executable needed by the program is 'swapped' back to physical RAM from the page file. This will cause other programs to be 'swapped' out to the page file to make the necessary room.
Page File In Use (KB). The amount of allocated page file memory that is currently in use.
