Sorry, but ThumbsPlus requires at least a 256-color display to run. We highly recommend highcolor (15-16 bit) or truecolor (24 or 32 bit) displays.

For the best viewing (especially of images), we highly recommend that you run ThumbsPlus with a 256 color (8-bit), Hicolor (15-16 bit) or Truecolor (32 bit) display driver.

ThumbsPlus will run best on machines with highcolor or truecolor displays, and performs well on machines with 256 colors (palette-based). 16-color and monochrome display systems are not recommended unless you'll be working only with low-resolution images.

6002

This operation will cause the image to be promoted to 24 bit, so that proper color information can be interpolated.

ThumbsPlus can only do some color operations on truecolor (24-bit) or grayscale images. If you plan to use the image on 256-color displays (or if you're running a 256-color display), you may want to reduce the color depth before saving the file.

6003

This operation will cause the image to be promoted to 8-bit grayscale, so that proper grayscale levels can be interpolated.

ThumbsPlus can only do some grayscale or monochrome image operations on 256-level grayscale images. The current image has fewer than 256 levels, so it must be converted to 256-level (8-bit) grayscale before processing.

This command really, REALLY deletes the file or files from your hard disk or digital media! To remove only the thumbnail, use Shift+Delete, or Thumbnail | Remove.

Thumbnail images displayed in ThumbsPlus are stored in the ThumbsPlus database (.td4 extension) and are used to represent actual files on your hard drive. This operation deletes the actual image files from disk, media cards, etc. To remove the thumbnails from the database, use one of the Thumbnail | Remove options from the main menu.

6008

You have choosen to perform a database operation while background tasks are still active! If you continue, the background tasks will be terminated.

Do you wish to terminate the background tasks?

6009

Because of use well past the expiration date, the following functions have been disabled:

Storing new thumbnails in the database
Building web pages
Batch processing, contacts, and catalogs of More than 100 files
Several batch operations.

To register this evaluation version, click Help | Register on the main menu.

6010

Your current display is limited to 256 colors. For accurate viewing of images, we recommend you run ThumbsPlus in Highccolor (15-16 bit) or Truecolor (24 or 32 bit) mode.

6011

Do you wish to remove this file type (%s) from the list of ThumbsPlus configured file types?

6012

This command really, REALLY deletes the selected file(s) from your zip file!. To remove only the thumbnail, use Shift+Delete, or Thumbnail | Remove | Selected.

ThumbsPlus is currently updating your open database with folder changes that occurred in Windows Explorer while ThumbsPlus was not running. If you exit this process before it completes, some folder paths in the ThumbsPlus database may not be accurate. Any folders not updated will appear as off-line "grayed out" folder paths.

Do you wish to save the remaining unprocessed folder updates for processing the next time you start ThumbsPlus?

The ThumbsPlus folder monitoring extension records folder changes that occur on your hard drives when ThumbsPlus is not running. The changes are then "played back" during ThumbsPlus startup. This is done so that your physical hard drive's folders and the current ThumbsPlus database's thumbnail path information stay synchronized and thereby prevent orphan thumbnails.

To disable folder monitoring in ThumbsPlus, uncheck Enable shell folder monitoring under Options | Preferences - General.

6021

This file will require at least <memory_size> of memory to load, which may not be available on your system. Do you want to try to load it anyway?

Feeling lucky! - Try to load the file anyway, but be prepared to wait while Windows pages out applications to your swap file in an attempt to free enough physical memory to load the image. The worst that could happen is you wait for a while and ThumbsPlus then tells you that it could not load the file. Try closing other applications and restart ThumbsPlus.

A Tech Support log exists from an unexpected failure while running ThumbsPlus. Would you like to e-mail this to ThumbsPlus support?

ThumbsPlus automatically attempts to record detailed debugging information in the event of a program crash. This information helps us track down the source of the problem to be addressed by future bug fixes or other technical support solutions. At program startup, ThumbsPlus checks for the existance of this technical support log and prompts the user to e-mail this file to Cerious Software Support. All information collected in this support log is treated as strictly confidential and will only be used for debugging purposes.

7011

Microsoft Windows ODBC tracing is ON. This will slow down considerably any ODBC program, including ThumbsPlus.

Do you wish to turn ODBC tracing OFF?

Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) tracing allows developers to debug their database applications by logging all SQL activity to a trace log. This additional trace log file I/O will slow down database access considerably. Select Yes to disable ODBC tracing, or No to skip leave tracing enabled.

7236

ThumbsPlus could not open or connect to the database:

Database_name

What do you want to do?

When ThumbsPlus fails to open a database, you will be prompted on how to proceed.

See Database Not Found for more information.

7237

There may not be enough available disk space to compact the database <count> bytes may be needed. Do you want to try to compact anyway, using the <count> bytes available on drive <drive_letter>:?

When a database compact operation is attempted, ThumbsPlus will check your system for available disk space to determine if there is enough to successfully perform the operation. The order for disk space checking is the following:

TEMP environment folder.
Any RAMDISKs that have been created.
All local FIXED drives (beginning with C:)
All local REMOVABLE drives.
All mapped NETWORK drives.

If there is not enough free disk space in any of these areas, ThumbsPlus will prompt you to attempt the compact anyway.

Select Yes to confirm, or No to skip the operation.

7240

The 8-bit median cut quantization is slow and may require as much as <megabytes>MB of memory for the current image. Do you want to continue?

ThumbsPlus will prompt you to continue 8-bit median cut quantizations (see Image | Depth) that will require more that 5MB of additional memory to process.

Select Yes to confirm, or No to skip the operation.

7241

You need to determine your monitor's gamma before adjusting image gamma. Do you wish to determine your monitor gamma now?

Select Yes to determine the monitor gamma value to be used for your monitor. This will display the Monitor Gamma viewing options tab from Options | Viewing - Monitor.

Select No to cancel the operation.

See View | Assumed Gamma for more information about monitor gamma adjustment.

7242

There is not enough memory to count all of the 24-bit colors in this image. Would you like a count of the number of 15-bit colors instead?

ThumbsPlus cannot allocate a buffer large enough to quickly count the actual number of distinct colors in the image (the buffer requires 2MB, one bit for each possible color). You may count the number of distinct 15-bit colors instead (the buffer only requires 4K).

7243

ThumbsPlus requires unique, non-blank volume labels on disks to differentiate drives. Unpredictable results may occur if you don't label your disks. Do you want to try to run anyway?

As this message indicates, ThumbsPlus relies on the existence of unique volume labels to create (and match against) unique database volume records when making thumbnails of your image files. It is not recommended that you run ThumbsPlus on a system that does not have unique volume labels, however, you may do so by selecting Yes.

Selecting No will cause ThumbsPlus to enumerate any unlabeled or non-uniquely labled drives and prompt you to enter a unique volume label for each.

7244

You have not entered a valid Digimarc ID. Would you like to do so now?

See Digimarc ID for more information.

7245

This image has too many colors to save as a GIF file. Do you want ThumbsPlus to reduce it automatically?

GIF files can only contain 256 colors, and the current image has more. Select Yes for ThumbsPlus to automatically reduce the color depth of the image before saving. ThumbsPlus will use a 256-color optimized palette and Stucki dithering.

7246

<filename> is a multi-page file containing <number> images; saving with the same name will save only the current image other images will be lost.

Do you want to select a new name to save the image?

Although it can read them, ThumbsPlus does not currently save multi-page files. If you select File | Save while viewing such a file, this dialog box gives you the opportunity to select a different name so the other pages (images) are not lost.

You can also use the Edit | Split Pages menu selection to split a TIFF or DCX file into separate files for each page.

Note: This message is currently only active for .TIF files; DCX files automatically cause the Save As dialog to be generated, since ThumbsPlus cannot save in the DCX format.

7247

Do you want to discard changes to set <batchset_name>?

When entering information for a batch process, if you pick a set name from the list without first saving your changes you will be prompted by ThumbsPlus to discard the changes before loading the selected batch process settings.

Select Yes to discard or No to continue with the current settings.

7248

You have attempted to assign user fields without first creating the user fields in the ThumbsPlus database (File | Database | User Fields...).

Do you want to create the user fields now, and then continue with the user fields assignment?

If you attempt to assign user field values in a database that does not yet have configured user fields, ThumbsPlus will prompt you to configure the user fields before continuing.

Select Yes to create the user fields and continue with the assignment or No to cancel the user field assignment operation.

See File | Database | User Fields... for information on creating user fields.
